## I’m excited to announce the launch of [Increase Bank](/bank).

This is the bank for ambitious technology companies. You’re obsessed with building the best possible product for your customers; we’re just as obsessed with building for you.

## Our core technology is engineered for your machines to talk to our machines.

A bank sits between you and payment rails like ACH, wires, and Visa. Those rails can handle just about anything you want to do programmatically, but the core technology inside most banks prevents you from harnessing that capability.

Increase built new core technology from scratch. Everything is programmable at scale, with minimal human intervention even for edge cases. We pass through high-fidelity data straight from the payment rails, so you can build reliable products on top.

Our APIs are faithful. We pass through high-fidelity data straight from the payment rails. We make as few decisions on your behalf as possible. If that appeals to you, [here’s our documentation](/documentation).

## Companies like Gusto, Ramp, and Stripe already rely on Increase core technology to process more than $500B.

Since 2020, Increase has been the banking backbone to move, store, and lend money at scale. We’ve helped our customers build regulated banking products with support from some fantastic bank partners. Those partnerships remain important.

But we’re still early in the grand scheme; we will get much bigger. Today, we take the next step toward that future.

## This is the bank I needed at Stripe.

Before starting Increase, I was the first employee at Stripe. When we worked with banks, they often struggled to understand what we needed and why it mattered. Problems that seemed minor to them—like managing wires over email—were blockers for us. We had to build all kinds of workarounds.

For years, I needed a bank with good product sense. One that grasped the possibilities of software and couldn’t stand to see them stifled.

The Increase team comes from industry-leading payments companies, and we’ve all had similar frustrations and hopes. We’re motivated to get this right.

## We believe the future of banking is API-first.

Companies use Increase to pay millions of people on time, free up working capital for small businesses, and simplify healthcare billing.

I’m inspired by the people who create these new financial technologies, but they’re not the only ones depending on banks. In a real way, you can’t build a road, school, company, spacecraft, hospital, corner store, or country without a bank.

Banks are where we formalize trust to do ambitious things together. An institution this important should run on the best technology we can build.

That’s why Increase Bank exists.
